TRAIN TRAILS - MARCH  31, 2012
So this was more relevant 2 weeks ago when I originally drew it, but it’s still a big issue despite the lack of more recent news coverage. This whole thing about women, birth control and family planning is way out of control. Women are as human as men and we should all be able to make choices equally. No woman should feel ashamed to have sex, because most men surely don’t. Sex has gotten a really bad rap and I don’t understand why it’s like that when we have so many forms of preventative medicine.
I’m just going to cut it short and mention that tolerance is very important. We all make our own choices, and no one’s saying you should make the same as theirs. Anti-abortionists, practice your beliefs in your daily life without shoving the agenda in the face of everyone who decides they’re not ready for kids and want to have sex. The same goes for people who don’t mind abortion, etc. And if birth control pills were more easily-accessible for everyone (even if it wasn’t for sex— there are many health benefits like less acne and cyst shrinkage), maybe abortions wouldn’t be as needed. Either way, it’s not your choice to make.

There’s a thin line between fighting for what you believe in and oppressing others with your beliefs.

Long time no see, internoobs! Sorry for the lack of updates, but I was REALLLLY busy for a while. I moved out, then decided to look for a new job since my pay (and daily tasks) wasn’t cutting it. I also decided to buckle down and dedicate a little more time to Quantum Box, where I do 2D art & write. Of course, I also have a boyfriend and friends to hang out with, so I’ve been busy.
The comic for today expresses exactly what happens when a computer is near me and I try to sleep. You’ve been there. Don’t lie to me.

My friends and I walked through Zuccotti park earlier this week. The experience was interesting, to say the least. He commented that there was a lot of scary energy in there.
I went home and decided to check out a Livestream account dedicated to the protest. The “host” was giving shout-outs and then opened the chat for questions. Ignoring the more important issues and laughing in acknowledgment at great suggestions, he goes for the more jovial topics. He mentions how happy he is to be there and so on. It’s as if he’s on some kind of game show or something and not a movement. Then, the chat slowly falls into discussing how “cute” the guy is, et cetera. At this point, I felt my mind melting into my skull, so I closed the page in annoyance.
Guys. Don’t let your ideas or the movement get ransacked by people who don’t truly identify with it. As someone in the forum mentioned, you may have to weed out the radicals (of either side). And if people are coming for the “real 70’s protest experience”, mention police arrests and see how fast they run back to their country home/liberal arts college. Unless they begin to giggle and squeal about the “real police brutality experience”. Then they’re great pawns for media attention.

Part of the problem people having with finding jobs is the ultra-specializations of majors and lack of multiple skills. The other problem stems from the fact that colleges decided to make these silly majors that probably won’t lead to getting hired.
Colleges not only need to cost less, but need be less about profiting and more about the general good.

A tidbit of recent big business silliness.

*sarcasm* Don’t think about the people, pharmaceutical companies! You can’t profit from a cancer cure, so don’t make it for us! */sarcasm*

Good job, guys.

My suggestion: Americans need to start researching herbal remedies again. Yes, it may seem far-fetched, but at the very least I’m sure plants have less side effects. :)
